Why do digital cameras SUCK the life out of batteries? |
ok i just bought a pack of Enigizer batteries today and my camera takes 2. Well i use it for like a total of about an hour and BOOM!! battery is dead! AGH!!! ok i cant afford batteries everyday so i was wandering, Why is it this way and any tips on how to make it not that way? regular disposable batteries [energizer, duracell, etc] generally don't work well with digital cameras. i've had the same problem too. go out and buy yourself some rechargable batteries and a charger. it's a little expensive but you'll end up saving a lot. chargers usually come with four batteries.. but you should still buy another pack.. just in case you loose some or need them for something else. i have use rechargable energizer batteries and an energizer charger. for me, it works great and i don't have to buy a thousand batteries everytime i want to take pictures. no problem. it really is worth it in the end. they last a lot longer than regular batteries. Report It it depend on the battery I think it is probably the display that takes all of the energy. You are essentially running a small television. Lol I've had the same problem. I'm not sure why but I rally think the best thing to do is get rechargable ones. I can charge them for an hour and use them in my camera (Fuji FinePix A101) for days when it used to suck up normal batteries in hours. Good expensive batteries at that. TIme to buy rechargeable batteries. Get the ones with 2500 milli-amperes. They last a long long time. turn off the LED and use the view finder and you will double the length of you batteries life. Large LCD viewfinders eat batteries. It seems nice to have a big LCD monitor, but they are power hungry. You will have to do what you can to turn the thing off as soon as you don't need it any longer. Look for "Power Save" in your menu. Set it to shut off at the shortest possible innterval after you take the picture. Set it so that it doesn't not display unless you tap the shutter button to wake it up. Even this will not go a long way towards conserving batteries. It's too bad you didn't know this before you got a camera without an optical viewfinder. If it's brand new, maybe you can take it back. Try using either lithium batteries or the kind you can plug into a charger in the wall. |
