What could be wrong with my digital camera?

I have a HP Photosmart 635 and, sometimes it will go on. But, then it will freeze and I will have to remove the batteries to get it to shut off. And then, sometimes the green light will go on, but no picture. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

I think you might be having an electro-mechanical problem with the shutter. It's a relatively common problem with this camera. What you need to do is unstick the shutter. You don't need to take it apart to do this.

On power up, and about the halfway point of it extending the lens, give the side of the lens a tap with a small screw driver. You should see the shutter open. Then you will get back your LCD viewer and can take pictures again. Sometimes just (gently) banging it on something works.
