WHAT SHOULD I DO SHOULD I GET NEW BATTERIES OR A MEMORY CARD INSTEAD The camera will still come on without a memory card, so that's not the problem. If the memory card is the problem, it will come on, and tell you there's an error.
So, here's what you should do:
1) Open the battery cover and double check that they are all installed the right way and not backwards. (Positive+ to positive, Negative- to negative.)
2) If you have other batteries that are the same, try those. It's possible the batteries that were shipped with the camera are not good
3) If you have an AC adapter, plug that in and see if your camera will work with that.
4) If nothing works, take it back to the store and tell the attendant that you can't get it to turn on and they should help you or exchange it for a new one (assuming they will still take it back on a return policy).
5) There might also be an 800 number in the book it came with to call the manufacturer for customer support You did not elaborate your question.
What kind of batteries do you have? Rechargeable or regular alkaline batteries?
Read the user manual whether you need to charge the batteries if they are rechargeable.
If they are regular alkaline batteries, buy new ones.
If you can not reslove the issue, go to your local electronics or photo store to get help.
If it needs to be repaired, return it to the store you bought from with the receipt.
Memory card does not do you good if the camera is not working. |
