My digital camera is dead with no explanation?

I thought it was the batteries and then I recharged them but again nothing. What could explain this? I didn't drop them or anything!

check your batteries dude..

to make sure if its the battery or not, try to use them on other gadgets and see if it will work. if it works, the problem is in the camera. if not, the battery. Or did you place it right?

How old are the batteries? Usually there's only so many times they can be recharged before their totally shafted, and can't hold a charge anymore...... happened to the one in my first cellphone, a TRIUM Mars I bought in October 2000....... and they were totally past it come the start of this year (to the point where I'd charge them for hours, then they packed in the moment I unplugged the charger cable)....... and the samething happened to both handsets of my Grandma's cordless phones.......... and the blurb in the Nintendo DS instructions says the rechargeable battery in it is good for 500 charge ups before it's buggered and needs replacing.

If the camera takes AA / AAA type batteries, and the rechargeables you're referring too are te NiMH type (etc), then try sticking in a fresh set of either "Duracell M3" or "VARTA HIGH ENERGY" disposables in the camera. If it works with them in, then it would mean the rechargeables are screwed and needs replacing. I recommend "Ansmann" rechargeables.

If it still doesn't work after trying different batteries, it most likely means the camera is knackered and these 2 sites may come in handy:

Dead things rarely give an explanation! But I'd bet money a fresh set of batteries will revive the dead!
