Best Digital Camera Brand????

I want one for under 200, that is small and compact, has zoom, stillshot or whatever you call it, and rechargeable batteries....what kind should i get??

Casio Z75 or Z1050 is a great choice, nice and thin, lightweight, shoots photos and video with sound. Easy to use controls and a 2.5" screen to view.

Canon

Kodak, if not get a canon

Casio Exilim is one of the best camera I have ever owned. Canon's are no good because the glass screen is super fragile.

My daughter has a very nice Pentax that I bought her before she went to Europe - it is very small and does wonderful pictures.

We have a Sony that I like, in part because it is easy and the memory sticks match between all our Sony gear; however, its not small.

I have the Canon EOS in both film and digital version; bought the digital so I could use my SLR lenses on it. I am much happier with the film version as I like the surprise; although it takes good pictures.

Both the Sony and Pentax have been dropped, hauled around, gotten splashed, etc. The Canon is often called a fragile lady ...

Kodak because of the anti shake abilities. I have been shopping for a new camera too and have pretty much decided that for $200 you cannot get both high digital zoom and meg-pixels, you have to give up one or the other. For a little more money, you can get both, 10x zoom and 5 mp. Since this does not fit into my budget, I think that I will opt for the Kodak with pictures that turn out clear since the others have a problem with pictures turning out blurry at least for me. Hope this helps!

The ABSOLUTE BEST camera is Canon Power Shot SD1000 Digital ELPH (Black).

Dollar for dollar I stack a Canon against any major make on the market right now! Canon has been in the top 3 best cameras in every price category. I own a Canon Powershot SD550 Digital Elph and really like it. Before I bought it, I did some research and found this one had very favourable reviews from reviewers and more importantly, users themselves. Rest assured I only purchase products that have a 90%+ rating from users. If a product falls below this number, I might consider it, but 90%+ is the benchmark.

There is only one other company in the world that beats Canon, Hasselblad. Hasselblad is apparently a Swedish camera firm that builds cameras. Only problem is, it is not in your price range. Unless of course you want to spend $10k on a digital camera. I didn't think so.

Hope this helps.

Fujifilm Finepix F10.
1. Good performance in low light.
2. Good battery life thanks to li-ion battery
3. Bright flash.
4. Will shoot video with sound nonstop until memory card is full.
5. Only $150.
It "only" has a 3X optical zoom though. It's a little thicker than most compact digital cameras.

most of the big brand are good. people just tell you what they have is good
