I'm looking for a digital camera that has at least 7 megapixels and at least 10x zoom.?

I don't want one that works on alkaline batteries I need it to have it's own rechargeable battery.

oh yeah, I need the price to be from lowest to $400.

Here are some cameras that fit your criteria: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_...

my friend check out the SONY Cyber Shot DSC-H5
it meets all ur needs...

sony dsc-h5

You might like the Sony DSC-H5 or the Panasonic FZ8. Both have 12x zoom, image stabilized lens, 7 MP, and comes with rechargeable batteries. (The H5 uses AA rechargeables (alkalines are NOT recommended)). Under $400.

A new Sony DSC-H7 is out at $400 with 8MP, 15x zoom, and a proprietary Sony rechargeable battery.

If 6 MP will work for you, the Canon S3 IS has similar specs and is a very good camera too. It uses rechargable AA's, but they are not included.

Good Luck

How about the panasonic FZ8

have a look at the panasonic tz3

Kodak 710/712

Canon 710

Sony HC4

Go for the Kodak Z710. It has 7.1 Megapixels and a 10x zoom. it is somewhat compact in comparison to an SLR, so if you want something light but power ful, id get the kodak. it costs about $230 Unforunately, It does not come with a rechargable battery. the energizer rechargable batteries last as long as the lithiums do though.

There is also a fujifilm camera that is slightly larger and more powerful. Obviously, the effect upon it makes it heavier as well. It come with a rechargable batter, I believe, and the built in flah pops out at least an inch form the camera to reduce red-eye.

If you are looking for a compact camera, go for the Kodak Easy Share V 610. It has a dual lense to get 10x optical zoom, but only6.1 megapixels. It doesn't come cheap eathier at $350.

Think twice about the 7 MP requirement. Why do you need that? Are you planning on regularly making enlargements bigger than 8 x 10 inches? If not, don't be fooled into thinking more MP = better camera.
