Digital camera-why no pictures after new memory card inserted,?

new battery's installed as required. Know at least 100+ pictures taken.Only about 30 pictures transfered to computer.

your question confuses me slightly. If you removed the memory card, depending on your camera this could automatically clear it. If there was a disruption in the transfer process this could cause only part of the job to finish. Are the pictures still on the camera? If so try to upload them again.

make sure your setting is for the memory card. You could be taking all those pictures and storing them on the onboard camera memory not on the card itself.

Best bet is to download your pictures through a card reader. If your in mid transmision with your camera hooked up to your computer and your battery dies then you have a great chance of loosing your images. Now if you just put in a blank memory card and it does not work. Try formating your card though your camera so it configures the card to accept the proper information.

It is possible that you FAT is corrupted. So the picture files became orphan files. Sometimes you can recover them as you can get windows to fix the FAT.
