Why wont my digital camera turn on?

it works fine with no memory card, but when the memory card is in, the camera turns on for a second, but then the screen goes blank.

the batteries are brand new, and its the same memory card ive always been using.

any tips?

EDIT: i didnt drop it, the card is in correctly and when i plug it into the comp, it does the same thing

your memory card is defective. it consume more current than the circuit of digicam.

you should probably plug it in your computer and see what is wrong or take all thge pix off the camera and put them on your computer I dont know thats what I did before
