Does my 120v battery charger needs a converter to work in France?

It is a Ni-MH Battery Charger.

My digital camera takes AA batteries and I may need to recharge them in France.

France has a 240V current, and my charger says on the back:

INPUT: 120V ~ 60Hz 6W

Which means I need a converter to reduce the current from 240V to 120V, right?

Extra question: How many watts does the charger use? 6? Because it says 6W next to the Hz.

Thanks!

sorry for the error in the title - I made too many changes ^^'

Yes; you'll need a converter; if you plug any 120V appliance (including a charger) into a 240V outlet, you'll fry it in a big hurry.

If its from the US yes you will need a converter

you will need an inverter to increase the voltage from 120 volts to 240 volts. you still have to maintain 6 Watts. May be it s cheaper to buy one in france ??

Proton LED engineer Lyons GA says:. I think France is 240 Volts 50hz so you will need a EuropeanVoltage Converter which are on the displays at RadioShack for about $20.
