Help, my camera won't work.I have a Sony Digital camera that I had not charged nor used in two years.?

Now it doesn't work. I tried charging the battery, but it won't charge. The charge light won't even go on when I plug it into the outlet. Is there an internal battery that needs replacement or is the camera no good anymore?

If it is a LIon battery then most likely it is dead. Get another and try that. There should be an adapter or cord for direct connect to the charger or wall outlet so that you can run the camera without a battery for indoor studio work.

There is a small coin battery that keeps the memory of the camera going. Things like options and Date/Time are powered by that battery. I have not seen a camcorder that had to have that battery in order to work.

try getting a new battery first if that don't work call Sony

Let it charge fully... not 10 or 15 minutes. And then try it again. If it still doesn't work then you need a new battery.

I would look up the camera model on the Sony.com website. A new battery may be needed if it is a specialized one. if it has been in a damp area, it may have internal problems from moisture and lack of use.
