Battery charger to take to spain?will it work?what one?

i am going to spain fo ra weeks holiday. and my new digital camera uses batteries like anything. i read that its better to use rechargeable batteries rather than lithium aa ones. would any charger work with a european adaptor in spain.do you recommend any.

It will work with an adaptor but it takes quite a bit longer.

The Drebbin Mark V. trolley mounted charger is probably one of the most reliable, it is also useful for carrying your suitcases.

you can get adaptors from 3 pin to 2 pin in any DIY store just ask if you cant find tham. and they do work but ask advise when you purchase it. just in case mine work over here in germany

Yes, just an ordinary european adaptor will work fine - when we moved to Spain we brought all our appliances and everything is plugged into one of these.

Our digital camera uses rechargeable batteries and we just use a charger and adaptor plug. Superdrug, Boots etc sell them.

Spain uses 220-240v just as we do in the UK. So all your appliances will work, provided you can plug them into the main socket which is different from the UK's wall sockets. Buy a European to UK adapter before you go. As for recharageable batteries, buy metal-hydride AA cells which do not have memory, and get as high a mAh as you can afford, say 2600mAh. There are many good chargers on the market. Argos will stock them, but you can also try on-line, e.g. www.w2w.com (also for batteries, free delivery to UK addresses). Check out the Uniross universal mini travel charger @ 拢16. Works very well and comes with its own adapters.

Have just arrived from Spain so i can say with confidence: either you take your existing charger and buy in the States an extra converter, or you just take your charger and use it as-is in the hotels' shaver outlet - in hotels 4stars and up. To be safe, buy a plug-adapter as well - the spanish is a 3prong, in-line plug. Lithium batteries are better than the rechargeables, but the latter is the environment-friendly...Or, you buy a charger in Spain, I use a Varta.
