Digital Camera Quest? |
Ive got a Sony DSC-P32 digital camera. I have it for about a 2 years now or less. Problem is that it doesnt turn on anymore even with new batteries. Im not using rechargable batteries cos i seemingly lost mine during my vacation. What seems to be the problem? How can i fix it? I really cant do without it. Im not lookin for a new camera. Im tryin to fix it. For a lot less money (under $180) than you paid for your old P32, you can buy a brand new Sony DSC-W5 which has a 3x optical zoom, 5 megapixel sensor and will use your memory sticks. You should either call Sony or find a mom 'n pop repair facility to get it repaired. Knowing how expensive Sony parts can be, you are likely going to pay close to the same amount as a new camera would cost. It really depends on what the exact problem is, and what happend to the camera's electronics. Sometimes cameras build up an electronic charge and need to be recycled. Take the batteries out and turn the unit on and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Get some new batteries and insert them and see if it comes on. If this doesn't work it's time to take to a shop and have them look at it. If you have to send it in it'll run you about $150.00 minimum. It might be time to start saving for a new one. Did you get sand or water in the camera? It could have shorted out. |
