Which rechargeable batteries to use for digital cameras?

hi, i am very confused with regard to which rechargeable batteries to use.I have a kodak easy share digital camera.recently i switched from using non-rechargeable battery to chargeable one.I bought Everready charger and the battery, and also the Sony batteries,but although i charged the batteries for more than 16 hrs my camera yet shows low battery and does not work properly.
i live in south mumbai.please tell me from where i can purchase the right bateries and which ones do i use.

the battery you have bought might be Ni Cd with far less mAH capacity... it cannot be used on cameras...
you should buy batteries with the following specification:
(see, it is written on the batteries)

1. Ni MH
2. 2000 mAH or more like 2300 mAH, 2500 mAH

you must use pana sonic

Panasonic NiMH batteries if they don't work ur camera is broken or u have been ripped off and sold a dodgey camera

Do you have a Walmart near you?

If so, buy any NI-MH above 2100 mAh...

Most modern chargers use NIHM (Nickel Metal Hydrite) batteries, although some chargers are only for NiCad (Nickel Cadium).

Your charger and batteries should clearly indicate what they are.

If you are attempting to recharge REGULAR battiers (Alakline or Lithium or Carbon Zinc) they can explode. They are not designed to be recharged.
