What type of batteries are the best for my 2 mp digital camera?

I can't seem to take more than a few pictures before the battery dies.

The disposable alkaline batteries and "heavy duty" batteries are a waste of money in digital cameras, those don't have enough power.

If you take quite a few pictures, and often (you use your camera 2 or 3 times a week and more, and take 2 or 3 pictures at a time), then the rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (abbreviated NiMH) are your best bet. This type of battery has a lot more capacity than disposable alkalines. You can get a set of four NiMH "AA" or "AAA", complete with recharger, at Wal Mart or other discounter for $10 to $15. "Brand name" NiMH rechargeables cost more, but I haven't had any problems with the "off brand" recharables over several years. I've saved a mess of money with NiMH batteries by rechargeing rather than throwing out disposable batteries.

The problem with NiMH batteries is that they go dead after a few weeks, even if you don't use you camera. If you don't use you camera for weeks at a time, but still want your camera to work when you want it, you'll probably want to use non-rechargeable (disposible) lithium batteries. They cost quite a bit more than other disposable batteries, say about $10 for four "AA" cells, but they take a mess of pictures, and don't "go flat" after a few weeks like NiMH batteries do. "Eveready e2" is one brand of disposable lithium battery.

Stay away from nickel cadmium (NiCd) and alkaline rechargable batteries in digital cameras. You'll be disappointed, those batteries don't work well in digital cameras.

This happens for me also. Cameras just eat up too much battery life. The easiest solution that I've found is to get rechargable batteries. This way when they run out, you don't have to waste money on more. I'd suggest getting a few and keeping them charged as backup.

Duracell ultra are the best just get them rechargebla

well wal-mart has rechargeable batteries for like 10$ and they come with a charger too.
there a really good value

Energizer has really good digital camera batteries. (E- power for digital devices). I would not go with rechargeable batteries. They are a waste of time and money.
