What AA batteries are the best for a digital camera? The brand doesn't matter, they're pretty well all the same. But rechargeable batteries come in different flavours.
First of all there's the technology, nickel cadmium and also nickel metal hydride. Stay away from nickel cadmium. It's bad for the environment when you throw them out eventually, they don't hold as much charge as you need, they take forever to charge and if you recharge them too soon they'll eventually no longer charge to full power.
Buy only the nickel metal hydride varieties. These can be topped up or recharged fully at any time, it doesn't matter, they hold a hell of a lot more charge than nicads, and you can get really fast chargers for them (fifteen minutes to an hour to do four). They cost more than the nicads but in the long run you save a lot of money and aggravation.
The other thing to consider is the power rating. Cheap nickel metal hydride batteries are usually about 800 milliamp hours. They are a waste of money on a digital camera because they don't hold enough charge to take a decent amount of pictures.
Buy only nickel metal hydride batteries that are rated at 2,500 milliamp hours (mAh). These will give you lots of power for quite some time before they need to be recharged and they really don't cost a lot more. The package that contains the batteries should tell you the power rating, if it doesn't don't buy the batteries.
Finally, remember that these batteries don't last forever. If you have them sitting around they lose about 2% of their power per day so never assume they're still charged if you want to use your camera after a week or two of inactivity. Get yourself a one hour charger or something faster and charge several the night before you take pictures. Then take a few charged spares with you too so that you have lots of power with you regardless of how may pictures you're going to take.
You should be able to recharge these somewhere between 500 and a 1000 times. The reason for the range is simple, it depends on how fast they're charged. If you use a fifteen minute charger you'll get about 500 charges out of them. If you use a sixteen hour charger you can get about 1000 charges. Basically the faster they get charged the more stressed they are and the sooner they wear out. ANY RECHARGEABLE ONES! Believe me... doesn't matter what brand just invest 18.99 for batteries and a charger. I bought mine at walmart. Before I couldn't get anymore than 100 pics out of 2 batteries. only duracell work in mine idk y i have a kodak I RECOMMEND RECHARABLE DURRACELL ! !!!!! BEST YET !! Duracell Energizer or Duracell
Don't use cheap ones. They wont last long and could damage your camera. If you dont want to keep having to buy exspensive batteries then get Energizer rechargable batteries and then purchace the recharger. You can usually get them together. Then you will never have to buy batteries for it again. Pretty much any batteries, but especially the bunny banging on the drums ones. Energizer makes special AA batteries just for digital cameras. If you use regular batteries they drain after just a couple of minutes. don'nt use any battery, if u use a cheap battrey it has bright chances of geting leaced, that may ruein ur camara
useeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee duracell or panaasonicccccccccccc
they r the best ones that say 2500 or 2700 on the side
rechargeable Rechargeables, get some Energizer rechargeable batteries and an Energizer Charger and you're in the road to get so much time shooting. Longer last lithium batteries work well. You might want to stick with a brand name because they drain real fast especially if you use your shoet. video cam. I buy the Energizer and they work well and do last long. rechargeble are good, ordinary ones are not good, the flash sucks up the power from it. |
