I'm looking into buying a small digital camera - the quality doesn't have to be top of the line, 3.2 MP is just fine for me. The size is what really appeals to me with this one, as does the price ($100). I'm more concerned about how long the battery lasts, and what your overall experience has been, and if you'd recommend it. Thanks! I will tell that I have not owned this camera but I have reviewed it (it wouldn't even make a top 500 list in my book).
No, I wouldn't recommend it. My main problem with it is that it lacks an optical zoom. Yes, it has a digital zoom but using that to even just the 1x level degrade picture quality to not even be suitable for 4x6 prints but they're still fine for online viewing. If you use the digital zoom all the way to 4x then no way of viewing it will save it.
Besides that, it has problems with locking up after being in use or when connecting it to your computer. Sometimes pressing the reset button fixes it, sometimes it doesn't.
If you want a good camera in this price range I can wholly recommend the Canon Powershot A410 which gets you the same resolution and ads a 3x Optical zoom. The only issue I have with this camera is that the zoom starts at 41mm which makes it unacceptable for wide angle photography. The A410 is available for $120 online. my little sister just got this camera from santa claus, and we are taking it back already. the pictures are very dark and off colored. i DO NOT reccomend it at all. Report It
