Need at least a 2 inch LCD window. Anti-shake feature. Good bright color and good zoom. Am first timer on a digital camera. Long battery life needed. Want this camera for concerts and night use with low light . Any help appreciated. You mentioned a 2+ inch screen, so I guess a digital SLR is out of the question. Too bad. With compact models, you have to choose - you can get a camera that's good in low light (like the Fujifilm FinePix F30), or a camera that has great zoom (like the Canon Powershot S3). You can't have both.
Perhaps the Canon would be your best choice. Check out the link. don't bother. From that distance you wont get anything with any kind of detail.
I took this picture from the floor with a Nikon Coolpix camera with 3X optical zoom. It was the only good shot that I got out of about 50 that I took that night. It's just not worth it.
