I am upgrading my digital camera because the one i have takes too long to snap a photo and i can't snap moving objects clearly. I'm looking for sef timer mode also a recharable battery, plus the above mentioned that my old one lacks. not looking for a big bulky camera. I use my camera for travel, sports and entertainment canon just release a new line of digital cameras with Image Stabilizers (IS).
The ones you should look at are...
Canon PowerShot SD850 IS
Canon PowerShot S5 IS
Canon PowerShot G7
all have self timers and rechargeable batteries.
the IS and the powershot both have image stabilizers to help to minimize the blurriness. Although you don't want a big, bulky camera, the features you are looking for are certainly available on a digital SLR camera. The entry-level cameras from Nikon (D40) and Canon (Rebel XT) aren't terribly small, but they're fairly light weight. The shutter thing is certainly important, and these cameras work well in this regard. Also, you can add to the system as you go forward, so for things like sports (longer lenses or zooms) and other photography (flash, macro, etc.) you can get the right accessories. With the prices coming down as they have been, it may be worth considering an SLR. If you have the spare money. Cannon is usually the best of the best.
If you're like the rest of us, however, I suggest you look into a Kodak easy share. I work for a digital photography company and we use one of these. They're sturdy (great for travel), they Never Break (great for front row sports). |
