How to i charge the battery of an optura 60 digital video camcorder? where is the socket on the camera?

the DC-in terminal is behind a cover located near the back of the camcorder (above the hand grip) - refer to the diagram in the users guide.

Your best option however, is to get an external AC battery charger and some extra batteries. Here's a quick search result from ebay to give you an idea of the cost and available:
