Anyone who has a Kodak c643 digital camera, i need your help!?

whenever i put (rechargeable) batteries in my camera, the light goes red like it would if the battery was dead, but the batteries work on my mother's camera which is also a Kodak. the only way i can get it to turn on is by licking the ends of the batteries and turning it on quickly. i use it alot, so i'm wondering is it just really used, becasue i have had it since december ('06) so it's not that old but its not new either. does anyone else have this problem? do you know whats wrong w/ my camera? do i need to buy a new camera or can i do something to fix it? please help!

my friend nikki actually showed me that it worked. she did it with her camera batteries so i tried it with mine and it worked! =]

contact kodak...they may have options to fix your camera or it may still be under warrenty (which would rock) and they could send you a new one. just do a little investigation and look through any forms or paperwork that you may still have from the original purchase.

Take a clean pencil eraser and rub it across the contacts inside the camera and on the battery compartment lid. Sounds like one or more of the contacts are dirty and simply need cleaning.
