Once you turn on a digital camera, how long before the batteries go dead?

Depends on the camera, what type of batteries, camera settings, usually, with a alkaline battery, lcd off, you could have it on for weeks, but most have internal battery save functions that will turn them off after a few minutes, if taking pictures, a normal camera will drain the battery after about 90 pictures.

that depends on several factors:

1. the type of batteries you are using

2. the quality of pictures you take. The higher the quality, the shorter the batteries will work

3. the quantity of pictures you take, how often you preview and review the pictures, etc.

I think it is dependent upon how many pics you take and keep on there; how many movies you take and keep on there; whether you keep the display screen on to take photos or off; whether the batteries are fully charged...many factors...

buy lithium batteries for digital cams. or a battery charger for digital cam batteries. When i first got my digital cam the batteries went dead so fast it was unBELIEVEABLE !!
