I am looking for a digital camera that is good on batteries.?

I currently have a FUJIFILM FinePix A210 and I take a few pictures and the batteries are dead. I am tired of replacing batteries every couple days and the camera is now two and a half years old. Does anyone have any suggestions?

the newer camera's are better on batteries. It's pretty much the LCD screen that zaps the batteries. The next camera you buy you should definately get rechargable batteries if not get lithium ion batteries that are more expensive but last 10x longer.

Hi jess you need a camera that takes lithum batteries other than that there are some new rechargeable batteries that keep the power until you use them when you buy them they are already recharged so they are perfect for cameras cos some times you have times when you arent using them but the power stays intact ! Make sure the new camera uses AA-cells. www.tigerdirect.com sells the Ultra Rapid Charger with four 2500 mahr batteries for $15. I was buying Lithium batteries which take about 50 pictures. The 2500 mahr cells take 40 pictures and are rechargeable.

Obviously, things depend on your camera's use. (My first digital was a Fuji). More important than worring about which camera saves battery power best, I'd be more concerned about how I can get the best use out of my camera.

Whether you decide to go ahead and get a new camera, or not, there are strategies to conserve battery life.

One easy thing is to not use the LCD screen to frame your shots. Use the viewfinder. Shut of the screen and stick your eye to the back of the camera. That, alone should add dozens of shots to your battery life. Also, you dont have to display each picture, every time you take a shot. You should eventually get good enough that you will know if you got a good shot. Don't spend a lot of screen time (and battery life) zooming in and scrolling around the shots youve taken.

But my BEST solution, the one I continue to use with my current camera, is to buy, at least, two complete sets of rechargable batteries. Even a third or fourth set is worth the money if you anticipate long photo shoots. I curently take along three sets of fully charged batteries on a shoot. One is in the camera, and two spare sets in the camera bag. Once I see the first set go below 1/2 charge, I swap out a fresh set and continue.

If needed, I still have another fresh set to do this again. Even then, If I needed to stretch the shoot a little longer, I put the first set back in. I never wait for the battery to fully discharge, so I still have many, many more shots left in each of my sets.

When I get home, I recharge everything again.

These batteries can be relatively expensive, but they really do pay themselves back in a very short time. I recommend the NiMH (nickel metal hydride) instead of the older NiCad. They hold a longer charge, and don't have a battery memory problem.

if you use AA batteries use either NiHM's (nickel metal Hydride rechargable) or energizer E2 lithium batteries.
