so DO rechargable cells work in it.Its a zoom camera with 4x and other cells like eveready n novino or nippo soesnt work in it I am lookin for a good reachargeable cells can any one suggest Almost all digital cameras will run on rechargeables. Even though the voltage of a NiMh or NiCd cell is only 1.2V vs alkaline battery at 1.5V, rechargeables last much longer for any given mAh rating, because of internal resistance. The high current demand of digital cameras overtaxes an alkaline battery, which has a high internal resistance. This causes energy loss and cell damage in the form of heat. Rechargeables have very low internal resistance. Dry cell batteries will be pretty useless in a digital camera, by the way. I dunno if those are the kind you tried.
There are also Li ion cells that are shaped like two AA batteries lying next to each other. They produce 3.6V, which is slightly higher than 3.0V of two AA alkalines. They will last the longest and have the most recharge cycles, but will require a more sophisticated charger. They also will not fit in all cameras based on their shape. You should check with camera manufacturer before you use these, because of the slightly higher voltage. hi :) im a photographer who use's a digital slr which also takes AA batteries. if you are using a camera heavily ALL day there arent really any that will last longer then say 8hrs. there are some things you can do however that will prolong battery use like for instance turn the LCD screen off. i use inca brand batteries which last a few days with light use. the charger i have cost app. $70AUS. good luck! |
