Does anyone have problems with digital cameras and batteries?

Every time I put new batteries in my camera, the battery life only lasts about 10 minutes...ive tried almost every brand of batteries, and still only lasts a short while...does anyone else have this problem with their digital cameras?

are you using regular alkaline batteries? if so, you need to look into some lithiums.. or some rechargable digital camera batteries...

some cameras also suck battery power like crazy.. I have a canon s3, and its wonderful with batteries. I bought an energizer charger/4 AA battery pack for 20$ that was specifically ment for digital cameras... my batteries last for over 600 photos and I use my LCD screen all the time

i have the exact same problem... I've tried taking the batteries out of the camera when i'm not using the camera and they seem to last longer

Yes, Its from using the LCD to take and review the pictures. The only way to save battery life is to use the display less or get some good lithium batteries like the ones that are just a little bit more than the typical ones. Or you can always buy rechargable batteries as well. Good Luck

If it's a battery problem, there are a few things to consider:

If they're rechargeable batteries, they don't come charged, you have to charge them first. Also, I highly recommend using good quality rechargeable instead of cheap alkalines -- alkaline batteries don't last nearly as long and often don't put out enough power.

If the problem persists, it's a camera problem, and if it's under warranty you should take it back to the place you bought it or talk to the manufacturer.

Try lithium batteries. Nickel metal hydride batteries work pretty well in my camera.

Digital cameras are "high-drain" devices. Disposable alkaline and disposable lithium batteries cannot handle the high drain and thus, they die quickly.

Thus, you need to get a set of batteries designed for a high-drain device: get nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable AA batteries and a charger. They will last a lot longer.

The cost for batteries and charger is as low as $20; so AA rechargeables and a charger will pay for themselves in about 3 to 4 recharges.

Just remember to charge the batteries before their first use.

you need to use rechargeables

Get a memory card and RECHARGEABLE batteries only! Cards allow you to store a lot of photos and rechargeable batteries will last a long time, plus you can recharge them cheaply. What kind of camera do you have, too? When we got our Pentax we had that problem, then we got a memory card and batteries and it was solved!
