Do I need specific batteries for my digital camera?

I recently bought a FUJIFILM FinePix A500. I am looking at buying rechargeable batteries. Is there any specific type of battery I need to buy? What size mAh do you suggest?

AA NiMH batteries are the only rechargeable ones that do not have to be specific to the camera brand. Most of the cameras that use Li-ion batteries require you to use the OEM's at least until the warranty expires.

mAh? The higher the better.

energizer lithium 2 they're called mAh is 1300 and they're 3 volts you can find them just about anywhere. Best bet would be walmart.

Use the batteries recommended by the camera co.

Your camera require 2 NIMH rechargeable batteries. I would recommend you purchase a charger that charges 4 batteries at a time and has a 1 hour charge time. Try to find at least 1200 mah batteries. The higher the size the longer they will last. You can find a good charger w/batteries at Walmart for around $20-25. A wise investment , Aklaline batteries don't provide enough power very long and must be replaced often.
