Which is better: a digital camera that uses AA batteries or one that is rechargable+ how does that work? Help!

I'm just 16 but I want a good camera that will last me a while and that I won't need to replace in a year (unlike the one i have now). I don't know much about any of this so I'm afraid I'll make a bad puchase if I don't get some imput first. I'll be printing from a home printer or sending them out to a Walgreens or something. I also don't know what a good price for a digital camera is so... Please someone help me find a cam that's right for me.

Find one that uses Li-ion batteries. They are the state of the art batteries for digital cameras at this time.

They far outlast charges on both standard AA's and NiMH AA's.

Choose a digital camera that uses SD memory cards. They are used by over 80% of all the digital cameras.

Take your time and look through all the cameras availible and then decide on three or four. Once that is done, go to a store and see which of them fit your hand the best.

well, first off, sony is the best brand you can possibly get, and look for one with a big screen. also, about 200 dollars is good if you want a good quality camera! e-mail me for more help!

Get one that can take double AA's. That way you can put rechargeable AA's. in it. I know someone who has a rechargeable battery one- it is kind of a pain because you always need the charger. If rechargeable AA's die, just put them back on the charger for an hour or just get some cheap ones at the store.

wait a second...i have a digital camera that takes AAs AND its rechargeble, at least, it was before I lost the charger...anyways, i have a kodak easyshare.

You can't go wrong with either. AA, use the supplied rechargeables, they last longer than alkalines. You can run to a store for AAs, if there is one nearby, if the rechargeables drain out and keep on shooting. As for the other type, you will need to recharge it unless you have a spare to keep on shooting.

well .. i have a camera that have rechargable batteries that fit in a AA battery slot thing .. but i'd get rechargable batteries if you have to choose because you just charge them when they die and use them and you don't have to pay to buy new batteries like you would with AA batteries ! Good luck & a good price for a digital camera is about 200 bucks .. unless you're a new beginner .. my friend has went through so many camera and she found a really good one at walmart for about 100 bucks .. i'll try to find it for you and it comes in colors and it really does take good pictures and isn't crappy !

you just will have to buy a memory card so you can hold more than 20 pictures because that's only how many it holds .. but you have to do that with most cameras ..

if you're looking for an advanced one .. i'm deciding between the pentax t30 ..

hope i helped

both are fine.

If the camera takes AA batteries, you'll need to buy a couple sets of rechargeables and a charger. So, you'll need to spend another $20 or $30 after you've bought your camera.

Cameras that come with Lithium Ion batteries tend to be slightly more expensive, because they give you the batteries and the charger with it.

The advantage of the Lithium batteries is that their power density is higher and can generally either take more shots or can be smaller.

The advantage of a camera that takes AA batteries is that if you are backpacking (or travelling without your charger) for 2 weeks, you can take a few sets of AA alkalines with you as spares. They'll hold a charge for years.

Don't, absolutely do not, get a digital camera that has to be charged. You will be unhappy because you won't be able to use it when it is charging! If you go camping or out somewhere, and the battery goes dead, you won't be able to charge it. With AA batteries, you can always have extra RECHARGEABLE batteries with you to immediately put in the camera so you don't miss out on some good photo opportunities!

You want one that uses AA batteries. You can get rechargeable batteries that are really good and that last a VERY LONG time.

I have 16 batteries and a 15 minute charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter as well as an outlet. Duracell 2650 Mhs are what and are about $3.00 each. You can take pictures FOREVER with them. In fact, you can take so many pictures before the batteries need to be recharged you'll be sick of taking pictures!

With regular batteries, you can only take about 30 pictures and the batteries go dead so don't waste your money on those, please!

I bought my camera after looking at Consumer Reports Magazine. It is a Canon Powershot S3 IS. It was $279.00. Go to my blog and you can see what awesome pictures it takes!
