I have Cannon IXUS 60 digital still camera. When I use this camera for aprox. 15 minutes, I feel frontal right side of camera slightly warm, When I open battery slot the battery shows slightly more than warm, to the very next slot of battery there is SD memory card 16 MB which stores all digital pics. My question is why the camera heats up or warms up? If it is normal then can it damage camera further with memory or processor? Is this warming up or heating up done by processor in the camera or by battery? Or it is normal phenomena? Please suggest! Camera uses NB-4L 3.7V 760mAh(Li-on) battery I THINK, its more on "flash". sometimes it also depends on the lighting condition. if you said that you uses it for 15 minutes (straight and continuous shots???) and on the condition that you uses always the flash, of course it will heat up. on the other side of the situation, automatically, you don't use the flash on a very sunny conditon, then maybe its the heat of the sun who makes your camera warms up. try observing it more seriously, i recommend to you; just turn it on without taking a shot. normally the processor and the battery are working on this situation 'coz its turned on. if you feel that theres some heating going on, more better to see your camera dealer.ty The battery is expected to be slightly warm. That s normal. However, if it is getting hot or the camera starts to reset oddly and often then you have a problem.
If after another 15 minutes f ue the temperature s the same, then there is nothing to worry. Hi, perhaps you can also try google picasa.
picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.
It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.
It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google
Download it free and just have a try:
