Use of Ni-Cd batteries in a digital camera?

Hi

Can I use Ni-Cd batteries in a digital camera, where in its manual it is specified as Ni-MH batteries should be used for the camera. Is there any potential damage to the camera if I use Ni-Cd batteries?

Srikanth.

They shouldn't physically hurt the camera, the problem is they lack the power to give the camera what it needs and a set of NiCads will appear flat straight away, like they are dead.

Don't try to use Ni-Cd batteries on your camera if the manual that came with your camera says not to. Ni-Cd battries could potentially harm your camera if you use Ni-Cd batteries. I would recommend you using Ni-MH batteries instead to be on the safe side.

ni-cd will not last very long at all
