Lithium battery present in digital cameras: a risk?

I was wondering if the lithium battery that is present in digital cameras poses any risk for health. For example, you touch it, then go eating something... Is there a risk of poisoning? Sorry if this sounds odd, but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac.

No. Lithium is also used as a medication as well as a lubricant. It is practically the safest battery formulation there is. Besides, the battery is sealed and won't leak unless you cut it open.

No, touching a battery and then eating something is not going to cause you one bit of trouble. Now if you eat the battery itself, you should see the Dr but even then you would probably be fine.

i never heard that before just wash your hands after..but don't worry so much :)
