What kind of digital camera do you have and how is it with battery life?

Kodak Easyshare CW330 and so far so good I use it all the time (3 kids) almost every day !! And it hasnt let me down yet !!

I have two Sony. One a video and the other hi-res. Expect batteries to deteriorate over 2 years time. Expect any replacement batteries to be not as good as the ones that came from the factory. (Expensive) Expect maintenance and repairs on a 5 year old camera. Nothing compares to digital but they just don't have the ruggedness of the old Nikon F2 film SLR 35mm.

Most cameras use AA size batteries. The best and most economical way is to buy rechargeable AA NiMh type batteries (approx 3000NiMh) +charger. You can quite often get around 300 shots this way.
Other cameras, especially the compact ones, use rechargeable lithium batteries. They are ok too, but don't provide the power of the NiMh batteries.
Using the flash on the camera a lot is one way to drain your batteries quicker.
Canon is a brand I am happy to recommend.

Point and shoots go through batteries like crazy. DSLR's seem to keep on going and going and going...

The battery life of my Sony DSC-R1 is phenomenal. Best camera money can buy for most users.
