First Answer!

for digi cameras, or any electronics...lithium batteries are good. but i recommend rechargeable ones...

My friend, I wish I could help you but thanks for asking this question. I have the same problem so you can produce an answer for our problem.

We bought a Kodak Easy Share and it MURDERS batteries. We ended up buying the ac adaptor for uploading onto the computer

Always keep a spare battery in the camera bag.Lithium battery operated digital camera are the best.

buy rechargable batteries.. works GREAT!!!

I have a Kodak easy share and go through batteries in less than a week or two, sometimes sooner. Before this camera I had a vivitar digital and it drained batteries in less than 30 minutes, sometimes 15, which I don't recommend Vivitar cameras. My camera can take two double As or one bigger one that looks like a 9volt only slimmer. I'd recommend rechargeable.

I have an HP Digital Camera. It is a battery guzzler too. What is the normal life of two alkaline batteries AA size (Duracell)

use heavy duty rechargeable batteries

What everyone fails to mention is that getting rechargeable batteries does not guarantee longer lasting power.

There are several types of rechargers and batteries out there. What you want to look for is a recharging system that recharges Nickel Metal Hydride batteries (NiMH). Also the higher the mAh rating, the more power it can pack as well.

Two systems that I have that have worked great, the Rayovac IC3 15 Minute Rechargeables and the Energizer 15 Minute Rechargeables. The Rayovacs pack 2000 mAh into each NiMH battery while the Energizer betters it at 2500 mAh into each NiMH battery.

These batteries are great because they recharge in 15 minutes and last much longer than alkaline batteries and also lasts longer than those lithium throw away batteries. Nothing out there will outlast these batteries.

Whatever you do, don't go cheap and buy a Nickel Cadmium (NiCD) recharging system. These batteries won't even last as long as Alkaline batteries.

BTW, if you are buying batteries that are marked "Heavy Duty" those batteries aren't even as good as alkaline batteries. Heavy Duty is old school technology where back in the days before alkaline batteries, Heavy Duty was the best out there, but there has been several better batteries since. Stay away from Heavy Duty batteries. That's just code for "these are the best crappy batteries available".

Cameras are battery drainers... wells let me rephrase that... the Camera's LCD is a battery drainer... turn off the LCD and use the viewfinder, your battery will last alot longer (wells thats if u got an actual viewfinder... some cameras just got the LCD)

so if your camera was on for an hr straight, that should be about right...

Mine EATS batteries! Sometims less than 1 hour!

So what did I do?

I bouht a Sony P200 with Sony Stamina battery technology and I use the other camera as a backup.

Extra expense?

Yes!

But just a moment - at the rate I was using batteries...?

I did the sums - and it made sense!
