Digital Camera memory card, not being detected by computer.?

I bought a new 4GB SD memory card, it works perfectly in the camera, and all is fine.

But, when I plug in my camera into my computer, nothing happens and it wont let me get any pictures or videos off the camera. Also, when I plug it into the computer, the camera sometimes seems to freeze in a way, I have to take out the battery and put it back into the camera to get it to work again.

It works fine with a different memory card I got with the camera, just not the new one.

Does anyone know what I can do?? I really want the pictures I have on the camera already!!

I've tried taking out the card, putting it back in, restarting the computer, using different programs on the computer, nothing has worked :(

Please help!!

since the 4gb is sdhc card! you have to get a sdhc card reader also. it won't work on a normal card reader!

Try just putting the memory card in.

Do you have a memory card reader in the computer? Try going directly from the card to the computer.

Most computer and printer card readers can not read that big of a card. Get an external USB card reader.
