Will I be able to charge my camera batteries up and use British electrical appliances in Mexico?

Will I be able to charge my camera batteries up and use British electrical appliances in Mexico?

You will be able to use them in Mexico, but you will certainly require either an outlet adapter or a voltage converter. The differences are explained below.

Although the outlets from Mexico and the U.K. vary, most camera's battery chargers are Universal, meaning they will work on both 220V - 240V outlets from Europe, and 120V in North America. If yours is like most camera chargers, the only required item is an outlet-adapter, which can be found in most electronic stores and travel-themed stores.

Please have a look at the charger's adapter, and look for the word "Input."
- If the input allowed is "100 ~ 240V", then you will only need an outlet adapter to plug your charger into the Mexican outlets. (See here: http://www.cable-trader.co.uk/images/int... )
- If the input allowed is "230V" or "240V", then you will require a voltage converter. Voltage converters for use in North America will be noticeably larger, heavier, and costlier than an outlet adapter.

The process above applies to all of your British electrical appliances. If any of your appliances only allow an input of 230V or 240V, you will require a voltage converter to use them in Mexico. Fortunately, there is an upside: voltage converters also adapt plugs, which means if you do require a voltage converter, you will not require extra outlet adapters.

I hope this helps!

I believe Mexico uses 120V 60Hz. Battery charger may be OK, but other appliances, probably not. Check their labels.

go on yahoo answers for mexico and ask which plugs they use on there.
