I just bought a new camera and have a question about the rechargable battery????

what should i buy or do if my battery dies and I dont have an outlet, and even if i do have an outlet, it takes about 3-4 hours to fully charge, so what should i do??? i was thinking that i should buy a new battery so i would have two to alternate with..or is there some kind of protable quick charger??? what do you think??? thanks to anyone who answers...:)

If you think that your battery will die (which I doubt, unless you take a huge amount of shots)...then you should probably buy a spare battery.

However, an easy way to make sure your battery doesn't die on you mid-way through the day, is to make sure you always give it a top up charge before you use the camera for the day. It doesn't have to be fully drained for you to charge it. You can charge it as often as you like. Even a quick 30 mins-1 hour charge can make a lot of difference if you're desperate.

Also, there are ways in which to conserve your battery power. The LCD screen (and the flash) uses most of your battery power...so turn the screen off in-between shots and limit the amount of time you spend reviewing your images.

My camera takes two AA batteries. I have a wall charger that the batteries go it to charge. I have 4 rechargeable batteries.

When one set gets discharged, I put it in the charger and take the two charged and put it in the camera.. TADA!

But you may have a different kind of battery for yours, so you might check the paperwork that came with the camera and see if they list a charger. Then go on Ebay and find one. They are pretty cheap there and will work just fine.

you can probably buy sumwhere a car charger

NO outlets ...NO faster way to charge, should buy one more bettery at least.

Get a spare.
If you get an after market battery, make sure you research it thoroughly. You might save money on the battery, but what good is that when it explodes or leaks in your camera?
