Is it okay to charge my digital camera battery as often as I want?

I have heard that charging it too much when it may have still a lot of strength is not good and may make the battery useless or go dead after a while? Is there such a thing or is this a general rule?

i think in general it's a good idea to let it drain a little bit, but if you need to charge it fully because of an event, charge it since you don't want to run out of battery during your event. Think of it this way: would you want to run out of battery during an event and miss pictures just because you want to preserve a battery? of course not....charge it fully for those kodak moments.

As with all rechargeable batteries it is good to give a full cycle charge when you can. Meaning, let the battery go all the way down, and then charge it fully. Charging on a short cycle, or before it is down all the way will create memory, and shorten the cycle and the life of the battery. When fully charged take it off and don't over-charge. This is true of cell phones, iPods, laptops, etc.......

yes it won't damage anything. But don't change them while the camera is on. Always carry extra batteries.

It will do no harm to the camera but you will shorten your battery's life for sure.
