(shoplifting) what makes the alarms at coles and woolies go off?

hi guys

what makes the alarms at coles and woolies go off

ive head they hide micro scopic chips instde the layers of cardboard f things like battery packets and so on

but i no its not the barcode

also i mean the tall glass things at the end of the cash registers

also if you were caught on camera stealing lets say a packet of chewy what would they do with the video evidence or would they even do anything ?

Dude, don't steal. It jacks the prices up of EVERYTHING else in the store! Seriously, when I worked in retail, 5% of the price of everything we sold compensated for stolen merchandise.

Those big signs on the walls of the store that say "Shoplifters will be prosecuted" are not there for fun.

Just pay for it like everyone else.

it is a sensor inside the plastic tag attached to the item,it sets off the alarm.

okay 1. the alarms don't go off, it never has for me, anyway if u are shoplifting don't get into more serious stuff

2. they don't check the video recording unless something major has happened (armed robbery, assault etc)

3. Don't get caught it is very humiliating when you do

4. Give it up, its really not worth the risk

The chips that are hidden inside the merchandise make the alarms go off.

You should stop stealing.
