I accidentally washed my phone in the washing machine?

i accientally washed my phone for about 5 minutes in the washer!!!!! i was trying to do laundry and forgot it was in my pocket!! i ran to the washer and pulled it out and my camera light was on and it said enter SIM card or something like that. then i turned it off but the camera light is still on. what do i do? can i just get a new phone battery or what?

From what I know about cell phones, I believe that the water that entered the phone probably has messed up the phone, obviously. I suggest bringing it into telus/at&t/etc. whoever you have your phone with, and have them take a look at it. I'm guessing the inside of the phone is damp and it most likely will not dry. Have them repair it, if not, you may have to get a new phone.

Take the battery out wait a week for the phone to dry out. Put the battery back in and see if it works, which I doubt. If not, go buy a new phone.

take it apart and put it on towels on top of your dryer and let it dry out for at least a day or two then put it back together to see if it is working tommorow.

I washed my phone once, it didn't work for a while but after a few days everything was back to normal.

Let it dry and get a new battery.
