I use the computer for internet, microsoft office, and music downloads. Occasionally, I use Adobe Photoshop and illustrator.

I get very frustrated when a computer is slow. or freezes when using multiple programs.

This computer is quite fast, and it has a ton of RAM. It will be fast for anything you want to do, and will stay that way for years to come.

If you don't mind spending the extra cash, go for it. You could definitely stand to use a lower spec machine though and save some money if all you're doing is using office apps and the occasional PS/AI.

no. u said ur sick of freezes. im pretty sure u hate crashes and blue screens too. if u get a mac, you get NO crashes or blue screens! its amazing!

get a mac you wont go back

The specs are right. The only problem is that it comes with Windows Vista. Do yourself a favor and get an Apple Macbook, which has the same specs, but can run every modern operating system, including Windows and Mac OS X. You will not regret it.

I recommend the black macbook.

Definitely add the apple remote, and 4GB of memory if you think you need it (I think 2GB is fine)

You should get less RAM go down to 2gigs. Normally the more ram the better, but there is a limit. I'm assuming you will be getting the 32bit version of vista. All 32 bit Operating Sysytems tend to have a problem with ram after the first 2gb.

In my experience i have seen computers actually run, slower with more than 2gb. If you go for a 64bit then that ram limitation is gone, but there is less support for 64bit applications and drivers.

If you do stick with the 4gb do'nt be freeked out if your system says that you have less, as windows has a probelm diplaying all the amount of ram.

Another quetion might be about battery runtime. with a dedicated video card like hte 8600m gt you will have less battery runtime. If having longer batter times is of concern id go with the integrated solution
