My camera is dying so quickly! What is up with that?

I have a FujiFilm FinePix A700. It takes 2-AA batteries. The thing is, as soon as I put the batteries in, it dies within a couple of minutes. I can only take about 4 pictures. I have tried every battery known to man, and it still dies quick. Any suggestions?

If i tried everybattery known to man then NO. all you can do is get a new camera.

If you tried many but not all then heres wat might help.

Look at the Volts needed or recommended to use the camera. Sounds dumb but AA's (along with all size batteries) vary in volts. even if the .1 volt lower the batteries will Drain super fast.

If you know the battery you have is the correct volt but still drains fast then ask yourself this.

1) Does it drain super fast the SECOUND you put it in?
or
2) Do you put in new batteries (camera is off ). Then use it a few hours/days later then it drains super fast?

if its 1 then i would imagine somthing is wrong with your camera. If its 2 then the camera is probably draining power while off. simple open the battery hatch when camera is not in use. this should solve your problem.

Are you still using alkaline batteries? If so, alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pics in a digital camera. Some may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. Walmart sells these for around $7 for a package of four (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

I would recommend getting some lithium rechargable batteries.
