Sony Camera - Need an alternative to AA batteries?

These batteries get drained out quickly...any alternative?

Rechargeable AA batteries with a mAh rating greater than 2400. The mAh rating will be listed on the packaging. I use 2650 mAh Duracells, and they can last me a few days before I need to recharge. I also have the 15-minute charger; it is worth the extra expense. One thing, though, rechargables don't hold their charges too long, so if you've had them in the camera a while, turn on the camera to see how much charge is left. If it's less than half-charged, charge them fully before use.

Also, don't just throw out the regular batteries your camera eats up -- they still have enough charge in them to power clocks, small flashlights, and other small devices. After they're really spent, then recycle them :)

Radio Shack has extra power alkaline batteries for digital devices. They're red in color. They seem to last longer. Or you can get a rechargeable kit from Sony or Radio Shack. Or get a new camera that doesn't use AA.

Buy some new rechargeable AA batteries, these with almost no self-discharge if possible. For example, Sanyo Eneloop are very good.
The camera could have some problem, too. Some just don't last more than 30 shots with any batteries - I had one like that.

You might want to just update your camera to a digital one that have a rechargeable lithium battery.
