Does anyone know if i could replace rechargeable NiMh with NiCd battery on my digital camera? The batteries would work as long as they are the same type, AA and such. I would not use NiCd batteries in a digital camera. Digital Cameras are high drain (demand) devices and need lots of power to work. NiCd batteries will not last as long in the camera, and will need to be charged the same amount of time to get a full charge. Remember, NiCd's have that pesky charge memory thing. Leave them on charge for 12 hours and that's what is needed to fully charge them going forward. NiCd batteries last no longer than good alkaline batteries, the only advantage was the ability to recharge them. Yes you can, but before using the same charger to charge NiCd cells check the user mannuel of the charger. Nicads are less durable than NiMh batteries in digital cameras. It should work. Both batteries are 1.2 volts per cell. |
