My camcoder is Sony DCR-TRV285E PAL, with tape Digital 8 type. My camcoder has USB port and Firewire (IEEE) port. Right now, I can only stream by using firewire port. When I tried to plugging the USB port onto the computer, it's only connect for 4 seconds, and then disconnect again. I've already installed all the drivers needed from the CD driver provided, but still no change.
I need the USB method because if I want to streamed the video recorded within the tape to my friend's computer, almost all of my friend's computer only has USB port. If I must use the firewire port, they need to buy special card, and it's definetely time-consuming and money-consuming.
Oh yes, the camcoder is not automatically connected when the USB connected. There is some menu option in the camcoder that said "Burn CD/DVD" that must be pressed in order the camera gets connected ("Found sony camcoder hardware" status). But after that, the USB connection is halted, and the camera said: "Error connection". You would probably need some special program outside of what your camcorder has given. I'm not sure because i have never streamed directly through the camcorder but what i have done is copied it straight to dvd. There are various programs available that will let you rip video into movie files to be burned onto dvd or whatnot. The name of the one i used eludes me at the moment but there are tons of them. As for streaming i'm thinking either you installed incorrectly, need a program for it, or the drivers need to be updated because your computer locates it but won't play it. |
