ok i downloaded limewire and then attempted to download a game and when i opened the game a bunch of ads started to pop up then i dwnloaded mcafee and now every time i click the button to open the internet i get the driver irql not less or equal blue screen and it shuts off QUICK i had to take a picture with my digital camera to even see what it says..i only get the blue screen when i attempt to connect to the internet or the cord is attched to my computer. i am running microsoft XP pro on a dell latitude d505 with 512 memory and have not had any hardware upgrades. can anyone help i have my associates in computer science but this is a new one for me so can some one help..... I'm not an expert so please forgive my answer. I'm just throwing out some random thoughts that might help. Did you uninstall the game and Limewire and then run a full scan with your antivirus and antispyware? You might consider using two or more products because no AV or AS is 100% effective 100% of the time. After running the scans I'd try a system restore.
This article attempts to explain IRQL:
http://ext2fsd.sourceforge.net/documents...
As I understand it, the IRQ is a hardware line over which a device such as a keyboard or sound card sends signals (called interrupts) to get the attention of the processor when the device is ready to send or receive data. Each device needs a separate IRQ but there's only 16 available (IRQ0 - IRQ15.) Most IRQ conflicts occur when two devices try to share the same IRQ or a software thinks a device is using one IRQ when it's really using another. Windows XP supports a feature called IRQ Sharing:

So my best guess is either Limewire or the game isn't detecting the right IRQ, or the game might have forced a change of driver(s) to your sound and/or video cards. I found this forum post that seems to be somewhat similar to your problem. Maybe it can turn on a light bulb for you:

As I said, I'm not an expert by any means. I'm sorry this wasn't more help.
