I made a recording with a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD610 and I can't get the video on my computer! Please help!! |
I made the video with my friend's camera (he's out of town). I plugged it into my computer (HP Pavilion) and nothing happened. I went to Sony's website to get the drivers I needed but they said they weren't available. After a bit of searching I discovered a how-to on saving the movie onto my comp. straight from the mini-dvd itself, so I finalized the DVD (although it is RW) and tried to save it. What I ended up with was three files: VR_manger.bup, VR_manager.ifo, and VR_movie (VRO file). I can't play any of these, and I really need to edit them (with window's media player) which won't import them. I have tried changing the file names to .mpg, but only get fragmented pieces of the video, and it still won't import into WMM. I really need to figure this out very soon, please help in any way you can! The problem with using software like the one suggested below is that the mini-DVD that it burned on didn't create an actual video files that the programs can read, it's like a data disk. Whenever I try and open it in cladDVD it says that no DVD was found, just like it has said in other similar programs. Download and use the free cladDVD to rip the VRO files from the DVD to your computer as one movie file. Use the PGC mode to get one full file of the video instead of the fragmented pieces. Change the extension of the ripped file from VRO to MPG. See if WMM likes that. look for video codifiers and then use them to convert the videos to mpeg or wmv. The codifiers are going to cost u money so try to use torrents to download the codifiers. |
