Violation of rights?

All Illinois drivers or those visiting there Illinois will begin using photo radar in freeway work zones starting in July. Beginning in July the State of Illinois will use speed cameras in areas designated as 'Work Zones' on major freeways. Anyone caught by these devices will be mailed a $375.00 ticket for the FIRST offense, but the SECOND offense will cost $ 1000.00 and comes with a 90-Day suspension. Drivers will also receive demerit points against their license which allows insurance companies to raise their rates. This represents the harshest penalty structure yet for a city or state using PHOTO enforcements.The State will begin with TWO camera vans issuing tickets in work zones with speed limits lowered to 45 MPH.

people are morons and are doing everything but drive when they are in their cars. the people that are out there working on the side of the road have families that they want to go home to at the end of the day and people fly through a work zone with complete disregard for those peoples lifes deserve the most severe penalty possible. if you want to see what its like go stand out on the side of the road one day. youll see people go by reading the news paper or putting on make up. everything else but driving. if the penalty isnt severe enough to keep somone from breaking the law then what is?

No people still have the right to speed, it is just that they will pay a fine if they do.

It is a simple equation;

Do not speed , obey the laws and continue to enjoy the priveledge of having a driving licence and driving.Also keeping your accident risk down with a history of safe driving, means cheaper safe car insurance premiums and no claim bonuses.

The alternative is to speed , disobey the law and lose the priveledge of having a driving licence and pay a fine.You run a higher risk of causing or being involved in an accident , heavy fine also affect your car insurance premiums and come sometimes even negate your ability to get insurance.

go the speed limit, obey the law. In work zones, it is very dangerous to speed because the workers can get killed very easily. Have you ever felt a car traveling 60mph go past you? Imagine that while trying to use heavy equipment. It doesn't sound like fun to me.

You do not have the right of privacy while driving on a public highway. The state has the right to use measures to identify persons who are on the public highway AND who violate the law.

I do not think so...If people would respect the laws of the road the cops would not have to go that far to stop them....
