I went through a speed trap at 25 mph but another car shot through from the other direction going really fast?

The speed camera flashed twice. It was a 30 mph limit. I know it was flashing the other driver, but could it tell that I was within the speed limit, or will I get a ticket too - I will be on the same photo.

I know what speed I was doing because I knew the speed trap was there, it was a steep hill, and I checked the speedo just before the speed trap.

yes. you are ok, like the other answers thats what the line graduations are for.
please don,t believe the other answers about not taking photo,s of you going too fast going towards a speed camera and only taking photo,s from behind.
if a camera flashes you once it is warning you that you are exceeding the speed limit but not enough for a prosecution, two and you are technically "done" as this is the measurement between the lines.
the cameras are set regardless by the manufacturer but not all of them have films in, it all depends on the force in who,s area you are in and their budget.

No you're ok. The camera flashes twice because it takes two pictures that record the distance you have travelled along the white road markers.

If they send you an automatic penalty you should challenge it because the distance you travelled along the white road markings will show what speed you were travelling at.

hi yes they only usually flash cars in one direction, so it would be the other car and not you, anyway most cameras will not flash under 35 mph in a 30 zone, an indicated 25 mph is probably about 22mph true speed so dont worry, if no letter comes within 2 weeks you should be ok cheers gaz..

Speed cameras in UK only flash from behind, if you saw the flashes in front of you then it was the car on the other side of the road. Only the radar/digital cams can take pics from the front.........So looks like you're ok. You won't be recorded in the pic.

Hello, No you will be quite safe because the centre road markings are there for that purpose to show which way you were travelling, as against the "speedster" going in the other direction.
Relax and sleep well.

You may be in the picture but that's what the road markings are there for. They'll be able to tell it wasn't you that set off the camera.
