How do i transfer video taped footage from my cam corder to my computer?

its a digital cam,i can transfer the info off the card no problem ,but how do i do it with the taped footage,there is no outlet on the camera(or in the ownwers manual).
is there a unit that will allow this,if yes,whats it called,or a link to a site so i can learn about it,thx 4 the help!!!

u seen their is a usb lead with that dv cam
