The motherboard is by Asus and the bios and dos loading zip files are from their website. There seems to be a clash of the Dos and Windows bios install and update programmes. Without this bios update I cannot use my digital video camera to create videos for fund raising work at daughters school. The Pc is a home built machine and I have used the windows bios utility to update in the passed. The Asus team have emailed me as below:
Sir, you could update the bios to the latest version 1021:
http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock...
the tool of updating bios is afudos 2.21:
http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/flas...
Please use the tool to updating bios in DOS, you can refer the page 4-1 of the use manual. Could you try it again?
The manual does not contain any instruction for above. I would appreciate a simple but total step by step reply.
Many Thanks First you need to create a bootable floppy disk (see Windows help). Next copy the ASUS files to the floppy disk. Turn your computer off, insert the floppy disk and start it. The computer will boot to DOS. At the DOS prompt use afudos to install the new BIOS. There should be a readme file included in your download that explains how to use afudos. If I remember correctly the syntax is simply "afudos <bios file name>". |
