Windows Vista???

How many of you are experiencing problems with Windows Vista? Is it because it's really "advanced" as people have told me, or am I just that computer illiterate??!! I bought my computer a month ago, and can't figure out how to do half the stuff I needed the computer for, like how to scan existing photographs - i.e. old family pics that are "paper copies" not on a digital camera(and yes, my printer is a scanner/copier, so it's supposed to do all that!). I read the little tiny owner's manual (not much help there!) and all the paperwork that came with the computer (and printer) and still can't figure a lot of stuff out. I'm paying for one of those "geek squad" guys to come to my house to show me how to do all this, and when I called the store I bought my computer at, they said a lot of people are having problems with Vista. So my questions are: Have any of you had problems with Vista? If so, what did you have to do to resolve them? Why are there so many problems?

I'm having trouble with audio too! This was my first computer, and I'm starting to feel like I made a bad purchase. I had limited computer experience when I bought it, and feel like the Sales Clerk "saw me coming" because I had no idea what I was buying. It's a shame because at first I loved it and thought "wow, I got a great deal", but the more I use it, the more I realize that there's just a lot I can't do and it's frustrating! Only hope that I'll get my $105.00 worth when the computer tech comes to the house! I'm writing down LOTS of questions that I want answered, believe me!

Vista is a whole new animal lots of problems I am pretty computer savvy and I spent the better part of 3 days working on installing and fixing problems when we got it. I had to find new driver for audio, reload old software again to either fix messed up software or replace totally missing software. Once I got it set up I realized why Apple made those cute commercials they are totally true but they even started before Vista so they had to have an idea it was Going to be painful. MS helped a lot call them if you have Q's you can't find on the net. and ask lots of detailed Q's from people who know

Yes, Vista is so "advanced" that it doesn't work. Its a really shoddy piece of work that runs really slowly, has loads of bugs, and - as you have found - is really difficult to use.

Unfortunately you're stuck with it, so you'll need to buy a book or two. Or perhaps a training course.

if totally sucking is "advanced" .. then vista is extremely advanced ... imo its a downgrade from xp ...

I have a new laptop with Vista and it works great!! Only problem I had was with the "free trial" version of Norton Internet Security being corrupted but once I got rid of it and replaced it with McAfee, I've had Zero problems.

microsoft has newsgroups and many sites with help tips such as ms technet, use broswer search type in what yer looking for.

I also bought a windows vista and yes,I am haveing problems also.I installed a cam that worked beautifuly but then I had no sound!So I uninstaled the cam so I could have sound!There is a web sight that you can talk on line to H.P. people that will walk you through anything you maybe be haveing problems with.Good Luck!
