How to go about my new digital camera?

i didn't even open the pack. what would you recommend me to do step by step... personally, iam thinking of opening the pack and reading its manual the whole night to know the features. then tomorrow, i will start testing some photos and so on. what do you say??

you can do like you said. but maybe it would be easier and more interesting if you read and test the camera at the same time.

Open the box, play with the camera and then read the instructions if you need to

simple just go through it's manual

First step is to check that all contents are there, then charge the camera battery (and meanwhile read the manual well). Then apply what you have learned! Have fun

there is usually a quick start up guide to get you going taking your pics

then use the manual and go through it step by step/ familiarise yourself with each chapter till you are comfortable with it then move on

the thing is we all want to be experts right away / in a few weeks you will be fine with it

Why the hell would you spend all night reading the manual? Yeah, opening the pack is a good idea. I'd say it would be hard to use it without doing that. Experiment with the camera and gain experience using it. It's digital so who cares if you take bad pics, it costs nothing. Manuals are for when you have a very specific feature you already know generally from camera use, but would like to explore in detail. I take it you need to read the manual on how to reproduce too? It's called Reproduction for Dummies. If you don't know how to find it, read Where to Find Books about Reproduction for Dummies - For Dummies.

There might be a quick-start guide to get you going faster, but I'm a little, well, anal-retentive when it comes to learning new devices - so I actually think your plan is just fine. It's probably what I would do myself.

first if it has a rechargeable battery make sure you charge it for a good 12 hours straight don't just put it in to the camera
if it use regular batteries start using it right away and just mess with it till you get to know it if you have questions read the manual then

There's usually a quick start guide which tells you the basics so you can get going without reading the whole manual; but reading the whole manual is probably best. I've lost mine and now that I have mastered the basics have nothing to refer to for the more advanced features so wish I'd taken the trouble to read it all initially!

Your question warms my heart! I am a retired Technical Author (that's one of those people who write instruction manuals). If everyone actually read what we wrote there would be far fewer returns under warranty. I salute you!

goto the manufactures website there may be additional information and drivers to install.
read the manual first !!
